Top July Commentators and Blog stats

Posted by admin On July - 31 - 2008

It is the end of the month and it is time to give a thank you to all bloggers that comment here, specially the top 5 commentators of the month:

1- Rado from Pizza Oven - He runs a site about traditional ovens and has a blog.

2- Agent 001 - He is a regular here at the blog and recently migrated is blog to a self hosted wordpress platform. Pay him a visit

3- Yan from Thoushallblog - a 3 month year old blog but already kicking ass :) Yan has a nice $2500 contest running. Did i say nice? Way better than that. $2500 is great! Want to get a chance? then read more

4- Halim Belajar - He loves SEO and has always something new to share with you

5- is the same has 4th :p

Btw, starting from today, the links in this blog are No Follow. There was no point on having do follow links in comments when the commentluv plugin was passing link juice to your blog.

Despite my decision on taking the do follow, you can get some link juice from CommentLuv plugin and Top Commentators list. ;)

Now, for the blog stats (not counting today).

July was a difficult month mainly because of lack of time, but it was also a month of investments.

Bloggervenue had a total of 2889 visitors with a total of 4539 page views, averaging 93 visitors/day, i have done better in this aspect.

i reached a peak of 79 rss subscribers (the day i reach 100 subscribers is yet to come :p)

Alexa Rank has reached a new record for this domain - 131,692, aiming forward to reach top 100,000 again ;)

page Rank went from 3 to 2

Traffic Sources:

  • Referring Sites 1,523.00 (52.72%)
  • Search Engines 1,122.00 (38.84%)
  • Direct Traffic 244.00 (8.45%)

I just love the traffic i get from search engines :)

Mainly my visitors come from Usa, Canada, United Kingdom, Portugal and India, totalling 88 countries!

July Income:

July BloggerVenue profitAdsense and other networks: $15- What the hell? i know i screwed my adsense revenue but i didn’t expect this result!

Affiliate Marketing: $0 - I haven’t done anything this month…

Reviews: $51,75

Private Ad sales: This was by far my best month in this aspect. Sold a total of $43 worth of ad space here. (and im not counting the review i did today about revresponse worth of $50)

So,i have made a total of $109,75 in July.

July Expenses:

Usfreeads Membership: $9.99;

Logo creation: $21,12;

Advertsing in several blogs: $41;

Bought a new domain name: $8,99

Bought some scripts: $20.

Total loss: $69.99

Total July Profit: $39,76

I was expecting to have a negative balance this month just like in my last report where i got a total loss of -$171!!! Although it is nothing extraordinary compared to most of my blogger friends, but still, i like to see these green numbers, and knowing that i don’t perform better because simply i don’t have the time.

So, how about you? have you already done your July income/expense report?

RevResponse - Give free content to your visitors

Posted by admin On July - 31 - 2008

RevResponse is an CPA network that will help you make money. I have only recently got in touch with them, but i really like the concept.

You can make money by giving free content to your visitors.

What kind of free content is it?

You will be giving free magazines downloads and you will be paid on a per lead basis. You can get paid from $1.50 up to $20 per valid subscription! RevResponse even makes your life easier  by giving you a website with the magazines catalog. But, for my surprise, this was just not an ordinary page. It looks like my blog! They used the same theme has in my blog! Great job! I don’t really know how they did it so fast but i was impressed. Go check it out how my revresponse site looks like

Another good thing i found was the catalog. The number of offers is big (more than 400), but there is also a considerable amount of offers that are valid for international users.

Ok, i have left a reward for you guys for last. Sadly i only knew about this yesterday. But RevResponse is giving away an easy to get $50 just for mentioning them. To take part of this offer you need to contact Karen that you will take the “Challenge” and then you need to write a review of at least 200 words. After that you will have to send karen another email, this time with your post link so they can review your post.

The bad news is that the offer ends TODAY! So you need to be quick. If you aren’t already registered do it know because you need to be approved first (i was approved in about 5 hours). While you are waiting for aprovall why don’t write the review in advance?

Top 100 Blogs

Posted by admin On July - 31 - 2008

UPDATED IN 31st JULY

After the last page rank update, im sure many of you started to search and bookmark blogs that can give yours some link juice to help increase your status. Some bloggers made an interesting point regarding page ranks updates or created a list of some blogs that have tools to help you get some link juice.

Everyone loves lists of some kind, so i decided to make a dynamic top 100 list. for dofollow blogs  or give some kind of link juice to its visitors. I say dynamic because this list will get updated weekly.

After trying to make the list of blogs that give some link juice i faced a problem, many blogs that used the so called plugins that give link juice, place in fact no follow links. So i decided to make a new approach for the list, and now it will accept blogs up to 1000 rss subscribers

The top 100 Small-medium sized blogs list will take in consideration 3 factors: Page Rank, Technorati Rank and User Voting Ranking.

To belong in this list, all sites need to meet the following requirement

1- The blog needs to have an rss subscription base up to 1000 subscribers

2- The Blog must belong to the following niches:

  • Make Money Online;
  • SEO;
  • Internet Marketing;
  • Blogging Tips;
  • Any Similar niche;

3- The blog must be in English.

The blogs that manage to reach the 1000 rss readers marks will get a mention here and will get some link juice.

I have already compiled a list of blogs, and i will be adding more blogs in the next days.

Now, you can help me. If you own a blog that meets the requirements mentioned above, then contact me using the contact page saying that you want your blog included in the Top 100 List.

I just need you to give me the blog address and an anchor text, preferably no more than 4-5 words.

There is another way you can help me. You can vote on the blogs from 1 to 5 stars. This way, you can make a difference on the ranking, and this list gets different from any other that may be around, like the top 100 list from 45n5.

Hope you find this tool useful in someway, and help spread the word :p

Best 2008 Webhosts

Posted by admin On July - 28 - 2008

Although, this is not part of the Creating a forum series, it almost could be included. In that post i told you what were the hosting requirements to get started in the forum business. Today, in what could be “creating a forum Part 1.5″, i will show you a place where you can get cheap web hosting and get a 2008 top 10 web hosting companies.

Web Hosting Geeks has an updated list of the top 10 hosting companies (according to them off course), along with reviews of clients (or ex clients) of any company listed there.

One thing i like in these kind of websites is the ability to show us some user opinions, giving us the opportunity to analyse the feedback clients give about a specific company.

Take hostgator as an example. It is acclaimed by almost everybody as one of the best companies of this kind (ranks 5th in Web Hosting Geeks), and if you see some reviews you will see many giving a 1 star rating!

A big company like this has a great number of clients = more possibility of having someone not happy = more negative reviews.

Despite the usefulness of this site, i advise you to read carefully the reviews and compare with more than one site of this kind.

Page Rank Update - How were you affected?

Posted by admin On July - 27 - 2008

I arrived from weekend and one thing a noticed was that everybody talking about the new page rank update. I went to my sites to see a general decrease on all of them.

This blog went from PR3 to PR2. Well, at first impression i was a bit pissed about it, although i suspected this could happen. After all, it could be worse. I have to say that i think my fair rank should be PR3, although Jim from thenetfool.com thinks my PR2 is appropriate  :p

Now, i have some sites that curiously got a PR of 1! Well, it is surprising because i have never promoted them in anyway. There are no links pointing to them, but even so, they got a PR of 1… There must be something im not taking in consideration right?

With my page rank decrease it is time to think a bit, evaluate, and then take measures if needed.

So, in what way the new page rank as afected your sites?
