Today i received an email about an advertising offer that i was negotiating in the past days, and in the mail the sender alerted me for the fact that Bloggervenue.com lost its Page Rank! I said “what the hell!?!?” and immediately checked my page rank and it was true!!!! Holy crap!

Many of you don’t give a damn about page rank but i learned to value my page rank 3 (at first) and the page rank 2 until recently.

I really don’t know why i lost my PR…. well, maybe i do know, but there is no way to prove what was the reason. Perhaps google bot detected link ads? i really don’t know.

Well, i lost the page rank, but i investigated a little more and saw that i lost almost half of my backlinks! Bloggervenue.com had almost 10,000 backlinks but now it is little more than 5,000 backlinks! This is a major difference!

This never happened to me so i am a bit lost. How can i loose almost 5000 backlinks so fast? Does any one have an explanation for this?

Have this happened to you before? How did you get through all of this?

Many of us, bloggers, read other blogs, and post on them. And in that blog we give our email adress, name and blog address.

Well, if the blog has dofollow links, then this is a good strategy to run. We write, readers see our name and link to our blog and then they just might visit us, specially one important reader named google bot.

This helps getting our blog indexed, and might help increase search rankings.

Till now this is good, but it can get better. How?

Don’t use your blog address like: yourblog.com, instead point the url to a post of your choice like: yourblog.com/a-post-of-my-choice

This way google will crawl different pages from your blog, instead the same root url, and making google bot think that blog owner is spamming.

You should try this every time you post on a blog. But there is an exception.

The exception is if the blog you are visiting uses commentluv, then don’t bother doing this, because the plugin fetches your latest blog post.

Hope this was useful.

AS you may be aware, google is on a quest to penalyze the page rank from any site, blog that sells links or reviews. Many blogs with a google page rank of 4 went down to one or even 0!!!!!

The market is adjusting, and payperpost decided to create REAL RANK.

Every blog that has Payperpost plugin will track data to calculate your real rank, that will depend on your visitors and where they come from. This will benefit many bloggers and maybe it will be a more correct way to rank blog than PR. Unfortunately, many offer are still asking for page rank and not real rank. I think this will change as campaigns are revalidated.

Google is testing a new platform for the distribution of advertising inside videogames. Google is planning to widen advertising horizons and videogames industry seams to be the new target. In order to accomplish that, google is planning to establish partnerships with videogames advertisers to reach a consent, or to find the best way to implement the ads in-game. The purpose is to show ads while the users play, said the company in an email sent to several media agencies.

This is not new, and companies find this market an attractive area for advertising, and sony, last month created a special unity, to develop in-game ads, that can be changed through the internet.

And as i can remember, ads have been placed before in-games. I remember the games offered by freeloader, some shooters also have advertising, but they are in a way that the gamer doesn’t think of them as an ad, because they blend in the environment. Take as an example, in a first person shooter, you enter in an hallway, and you see a drink machine, wich, by “any luck”(!), it’s a coca-cola vending machine! Smart isn’t it? This is called “product placement”, and altough in video games this isn’t very used yet, in the movie industry it is now like a law…. Remember the movie “The island”? Who hasn’t laughed at the “not so discrete” advertising inside the movies??? The ads pratically popped into our eyes!!

For the good and bad, i think in the future we will leave in a world where ads are showing every where at all time, and i’ll bet google will have a big piece of the cake… The question is: Will we be able to make money also with this?

This is my post for Custodio’s blog contest for $1000 prize. Custodio’s blog is all about making money online. He also has an english version.

Finally, we can change the code directly from google adsense account! I tell you, this is one of the best moves that adsense made. Now it is a lot more simply to edit our codes. No more logging into our hosting account from our multiple websites, looking for the code that we needed to update. Now we can simply edit it directly from our adsense account.

Just make sure you name all the ad blocks you create so that you don’t get confused when you need to edit them, and if you have a lot of blocks.

The negative aspect is that if you make a mistake creating the block with the wrong size them you can’t delete it or edit the size…. (at least i haven’t find it), i already have one useless block….

This is just my little update on making money online with google

I say this ” although it’s very tempting to click on the ads showing at our site, even if its only to see if it’s working (lol), it does more harm than good….

I had my adsense account terminated, but i admit that i was not going as google TOS said.. i was participating in those traffic exchange and click exchange…. after that, i never found any decent ppc publisher…. i tried clicksor, oxado, adbrite and so on…. but i miss the old good adsense…. lol
