Creating mini sites – Part 1 – Software to use

Posted by admin On December - 22 - 2007

Hello! As mentioned yesterday, im going to start a series of “how to create a mini site”. I have covered this subject a few times, and showed you how to create them using some scripts or software like Commonsense CMS, Rssmini 1.3, HyperVRE (which promised to be a great tool but in fact sucked).

I have 2 new tools to try out. But for now let’s stick with one. I really hope this new tool is way better than the previous ones. This tool takes in consideration that it helps you creating a mini site easy and fast, but it does not help you create the content. It’s up to you to create the content. Don’t fall in temptation to copy other site content and don’t use rss feed to fill you pages. Use your own created content, your own words.

Creating mini sites – Part 0

Posted by admin On December - 21 - 2007

I have talked about creating mini sites in previous posts, and now i will resume this topic. Starting tomorrow (i think lol), i will do a series of posts showing you how to create a mini site, and this time with a new script. Want to know what script am i talking about? Just wait and you will see. Just remember to visit the blog tomorrow :)

Changing the code directly from google adsense account

Posted by admin On November - 10 - 2007

Finally, we can change the code directly from google adsense account! I tell you, this is one of the best moves that adsense made. Now it is a lot more simply to edit our codes. No more logging into our hosting account from our multiple websites, looking for the code that we needed to update. Now we can simply edit it directly from our adsense account.

Just make sure you name all the ad blocks you create so that you don’t get confused when you need to edit them, and if you have a lot of blocks. :)

Headspace2 – advanced meta-data manager for wordpress

Posted by admin On November - 7 - 2007

Today, i was looking for new wordpress plugins that could be useful for my blogs and i came across to Headspace2. It is an advanced meta-data manager, great for SEO tasks. It’s very similirar to “all in one seo pack”, but i think it is even better. The strong point of Headspace2 is that it can generate meta tags for you. The plug in reads your post and then suggests the tags for it, and you can choose some if not all. I really liked this option making tag adding much more quicker.

Hypervre – phase 2 – considerations

Posted by admin On November - 5 - 2007

About 1 month ago i initiated the first phase of Hypervre evaluation and today i decided to show what traffic i had with these minisites:

so for the site: www.procurarcasa.info

in october i had a total of 311 hits, and none came from search engines, the traffic was basically from bots, or my own visits. Google shows the site is indexed, but there’s no traffic coming from it, maybe, because the site has no tags!!! This means, Hypervre failed to create tags! or was my own fault? Visitors came from US, france, portugal (this means me!), and even seychelles :) Conclusion: i will terminate this site and create a new one with a different program, or i will create myself.

I need more time!!!!

Posted by admin On October - 28 - 2007

This weekend in Portugal we had an hour change. At 2h AM the clock went backwards one hour. It’s thewinter time…. i don’t like these changes, although i had another extra hour of sleep today! :) But my point is: i need more time! there’s so many projects i want to do and so little time. Next tuesday i will have my last college exam if all goes well, i have to study, and i really don’t want to! lool anyway, the project: Home Shopping Network is in stand by until i do the exam, and after i party a little bit ;)

Creating mini sites with hyperVRE – Phase 1

Posted by admin On October - 9 - 2007

In this summer i have mentioned a software that creates mini sites easily, but i never showed you live content created by hyperVRE.

I haven’t used it yet to publish mini-sites, but now i have decided to do a little test on hypervre using the free version available. The test will consist mainly in creating 3 different mini sites, one with an .info domain, and the other 2 using sub domains of the dahh.net domain.

So after thinking a little bit the 3 sites i will create are:

1st: real estate;

2nd: cars

3rd: hair loss

Mini-sites: ANother easy way to create them

Posted by admin On July - 29 - 2007

Today im gonna talk again about creating mini sites. As you may remember on my previous post,  i reviewed a tool calle commonsense Cms, and how easy was to create mini sites.

I found today a free script called RSSMini 1.3, and it’s just great! You copy the files to your host, edit 3-4 lines of the config.php and bang! A complete mini site.

What will you have? 9 pages automatically generated according with they keyword you choose. You can edit site’s colors easily, and it’s easy to add your advertising.

Creating Mini sites

Posted by admin On July - 24 - 2007

Today im gonna talk about how to create mini sites. (and im assuming that you already know what a mini site is)

You have several ways to build a mini site.

One of them is to create a site from an html template or creating one from scratch, or you can create a blog for the purpose.

And another one is to install a CMS script (content management script). There’s hundreds of cms free of charge to download, but not all are the best options. I’ve tried cms like e107, xoops, joomla, phpwebsite and so on, but none were created intentionaly to serve as mini sites easily. well, i found the CommonSense CMS script that is free to download and can help you creating mini sites.
