According to JS Properties, LLC, there are many people looking for a new place to call home at any given time and some of those choose Middle Tennessee. Moving to a new city or state can be daunting. With so many issues to consider, says JS Properties, LLC, finding current and accurate information about an area can be a challenge and those considering a move may have many different questions for which they need answers.

JS Properties, LLC says that when considering a new home, people will need to know about the prices of homes and land for rent and/or sale, where the local utilities are located and what the quality of the school systems is like if moving with children. JS Properties, LLC encourages potential residents to lease a home for at least a year prior to purchasing in order to get a better feel for the community and become established in their new surroundings so they can make a more informed decision when it comes time to buy.

JS Properties, LLC also says that generic questions about the area are very common. What is the weather like? How does the cost of living compare to other cities? What are the prospects for employment or opening a new business? How is traffic? Joyce Smotherman of JS Properties, LLC, says that these are all questions that need to be considered when relocating to a new area. JS Properties, LLC offers potential new customers and clients help with answers to these and many other inquiries. Those with concerns about the crime rate or related issues are referred to the proper authorities for current local data. JS Properties, LLC also recommends the Murfreesboro website and the Chamber of Commerce as sources of information to newcomers.

For those considering a move, JS Properties, LLC highly recommends looking into Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Murfreesboro is a steadily growing community with a vibrant university culture and excellent economic prospects.

Most dentists, like Dr. Eric Siani DMD of Palmdale, California, tell their patients to refrain from sugary snacks between meals. However, it’s not just sugar-loaded snacks like candies and chocolates that cause tooth decay, adds Dr. Eric Siani DMD. Sweeteners like fructose and honey react in the mouth like sugars and even starchy snacks like potato chips break down into sugars once ingested.

According to Dr. Eric Siani DMD, the problem with sugars is that they turn into enamel-eating acids once they mix with bacteria in the mouth. Once that protective layer of enamel is dissolved from the teeth, cavities start. Obviously, Dr. Eric Siani DMD points out, the less sugar a person eats, the less enamel-eating acid is produced.

There are many choices of snacks, and some are healthier than others for teeth, continues Dr. Eric Siani DMD. For example, the faster a snack is swallowed, the less time the teeth are bathed in sugar. That means, Dr. Eric Siani DMD explains, that a chewy candy is more harmful than one that is chomped on and swallowed quickly.

Frequent snacking is also a healthy mouth no-no, asserts Dr. Eric Siani DMD. Acids eat away at tooth enamel for a minimum of 20 minutes before becoming harmless. Obviously, says Dr. Eric Siani DMD, the more sugary snacks that are consumed throughout the day, the more erosion of protective tooth enamel takes place.

Dr. Eric Siani DMD recommends that when having a snack, at the very least the mouth should be swished out with water. If possible, adds Dr. Eric Siani DMD, it’s better to brush the teeth with fluoride toothpaste. Better snacks for teeth are those that are better for the whole body, Dr. Eric Siani DMD points out. They include raw veggies and fruits as well as whole-grain bread and nuts.

Another tooth-loving snack according to Dr. Eric Siani DMD is cheese, which studies show may protect against cavities. Not only does the dairy product have calcium, but it also neutralizes the acid produced in the mouth every time you eat. Sugarless gum is another tooth-healthy chomp, adds Dr. Eric Siani DMD, producing saliva that acts as a mouth rinse and acid neutralizer.

They understand that an individual’s mind and spirit are often involved. A Forever Recovery’s counselors know what pushes a person to the point of abusing drugs and alcohol.

Understanding the feelings and emotions experienced by a drug addict can help the counselors at A Forever Recovery draw out the core reasons and actions behind why a person abuses drugs and alcohol. Then they can help the client deal with those feelings, emotions and negative actions.

Dr. Gregory J. Daniels of Hinsdale Dentist has again focused his efforts toward patient education about dental care and prevention. He believes that focusing on these procedures and life practices will help individuals avoid the problems associated with oral disease later on down the road. Dr. Gregory J. Daniels states that a good prevention program includes home dental care performed by you, the patient, as well as dental care and education by the professional dental staff at Gregory J. Daniels DDS in Hinsdale, Illinois. Dr. Daniels is convinced that these patient services will make a difference in the quality of life for his patients.

Dr. Gregory J. Daniels provides several kinds of dental care, all with the goal of helping patients to avoid dental disease or to catch it in its early and more treatable stages. Preventive dental care begins with the oral hygiene care a patient does at home. Preventive dentistry also involves the on-going services of the dental staff at Hinsdale Dentist to help a patient maintain healthy teeth and gums. Both of these, says Dr. Gregory J. Daniels DDS, will help to stop the development of oral disease. Dr. Daniels will also look for early signs of periodontal disease, dental decay, and other troublesome changes in the mouth’s soft tissue that might indicate the possibility of oral cancer.

Preventive care in Dr. Gregory J. Daniels’ office includes cleaning of the teeth, a further examination of the teeth and soft tissue using visual and tactile exams, x-rays, and oral cancer screening. Newer techniques to diagnose gum disease include computerized tools that measure the bacterial content in the mouth.

Various preventive procedures performed by Dr. Gregory Daniels for his younger patients include the use of fluoride supplements and applications. Dr. Daniels applies dental sealants to children’s teeth, forming a barrier between tooth crevasses and bacteria to help ward off dental decay. Dr. Daniels also looks for malocclusions, and might refer children to a dental specialist, such as an orthodontist, to correct a bad bite. Dr. Gregory J. Daniels recommends an orthodontic evaluation by seven years of age.

An important part of preventive dentistry performed by Dr. Gregory J. Daniels is educating his patients about at-home care, nutrition, and smoking cessation. Various at-home procedures that can help prevent oral disease include regular and proper brushing, flossing and sometimes use of mouth rinses and at-home fluoride applications.

Dr. Gregory J. Daniels and his staff regularly educate patients about proper brushing and flossing techniques. In order to properly brush the teeth, a patient should use a soft nylon toothbrush with round-ended bristles. Place the bristles along the gum line at a 45-degree angle to cover the tooth surface and gum line. The brushing technique should be gentle and in a rolling back-and-forth motion, with several teeth being brushed at a time. Brush the inner surfaces of your teeth and tilt the brush vertically to brush the front teeth. Ideally, you should use a back-and-forth motion to brush the biting surface of the teeth and the tongue.

Flossing removes plaque from between teeth and at the gum line. Dr. Gregory J. Daniels says that it should be done with an 18-inch strip of floss wrapped around the middle fingers of each hand. The remaining one to two inches of floss that is inserted between the teeth should be directed by the thumbs. By keeping the floss taut, patients can use their index fingers to guide the floss between the lower teeth with a gentle zigzag motion, while contouring the floss around the sides of the teeth. Floss each tooth with a clean section of the floss and ensure that the floss goes under the gum line.

Not many people know that 75% of Americans have some form of dental disease, so regular dental visits are particularly important following adolescence. Seniors often reap the benefits of training in proper techniques of denture care and cleaning, which include brushing the replacement teeth. Patients who suffer from arthritis because of arthritis, for example, also benefit from tips for adapting toothbrushes for easier handling.

For more information contact Dr. Gregory J. Daniels DDS at hinsdaledentist.com or at 630-655-8815.

Carmackmoving.com says “Don’t hit a sour note when moving a piano”!

by Robert Carmack, Carmackmoving.com

There are many funny cartoons and movies that feature situations involving people trying to move a big heavy piano. Pianos can be very difficult to move, especially if they’re heavy antiques and heirlooms passed on from generations and you don’t utilize professionals like CarmackMoving.com. Here are some ways for you to move your piano to another room, or if you want to bring your piano with you as you move residences.

The grand piano is the first thing that comes to mind when people say “piano.” The strings of a grand piano are laid out horizontally along a specially-shaped case. Most grand pianos are used for ballrooms, auditoriums, music halls, and are often rented out for recitals and other formal functions.

CarmackMoving.com reminds you that he strings, keys, and hammer mechanisms of a grand piano are quite sensitive; you may accidentally cause the strings to go out of tune if you move the grand piano the wrong way. The lacquered case of a grand piano may also get pitted, chipped, or scratched.

If you do not use a professional service such as CarmackMoving.com you will need at least three people to move a grand piano. To move a grand piano, follow these steps:

Secure the lid of the piano with elastic bands or nylon straps.

Lift the piano from the front left leg, and carefully prop it on a jack.

Remove the front left leg, and carefully position the corner on the piano skid.

Remove the rear left leg, and lower the piano to its flat side on the skid.

Lift the piano up, using the edge of the piano as a lever. Once the piano is propped up on its flat side, remove the front right leg of the piano.

Protect the piano on the skid with blankets or other padding, and secure the instrument with cables or rope.

Move the piano very carefully while it’s secured on the skid.

It is always best to spend the money and hire a professional such as CarmackMoving.com. Long after you have saved a little money the scratches in the lacquer remain.

by Robert Carmack, Carmack Moving and Storage

Start by packing the things you use least, such as books, seasonal clothing or sports equipment, and knickknacks. These are articles that can be put into storage when you first move into your new home.

Concentrate on packing one room at a time. Jumping from room to room just creates confusion for everyone. Carmack Moving and Storage recommends that you label all boxes coming from each room, that way you can locate them as they are unpacked. Once you are done in that room, stack the finished boxes against one wall.

Always wrap nuts and bolts in a clearly labeled plastic bag. This seems like the simplest of things until you arrive ready to reassemble everything and there is not a nut or bolt to be found anywhere.

Carmack Moving and Storage recommends that you empty large pieces such as dressers completely. While it may seem more efficient to just move a piece leaving the contents in it, furniture tends to break more easily if not emptied first.

Keep a complete inventory list of everything. Jot down serial numbers on all electronic equipment; take pictures of the condition of such things as art and large flat items that may be damaged in the move.

Do not pack flammables like aerosol cans, paints, or gasoline. Not only is it not safe, but you risk damaging contents in other boxes. When using professional movers such as Carmack Moving and Storage, you will be reminded of this early on.

Don’t pack perishables like frozen foods, produce, or plants; transport these in your vehicle or bless a neighbor with them. Food not canned will never make the move successfully.

Don’t place soaps, sprays, polishes, and medicine in the same box as food. Again, not only do you risk not being able to easily locate what you need but the possibility of these liquids leaking and damaging other items in high..

Carmack Moving and Storage recommends keeping chilled water or soda available so they don’t dehydrate. It’s also nice to be able to grab a drink when you need one!

Remember your movers. They get hot and tired just like you do. A little kindness goes a long way toward building goodwill as you ask for those little extra things to be done.

A. Bailey Plumbing – FIVE SIMPLE WAYS TO SAVE MONEY

by Chris Bailey, Master Plumber and Owner of A. Bailey Plumbing & Heating

Avoid high pressure showers: Too much pressure can be stressful, not just on yourself, but on your plumbing system too! High pressure showers not only cost more because of the extra water running down the drain, but too much force can actually wear on your fixtures. 60 – 80 psi is the recommended pressure. Anything higher may be costing you money.

Address leaky faucets immediately: Leaky faucets are more than an annoyance—they costing you money! A slow but steady drip can waste almost 50 gallons of water a day. Over the course of a year, that adds up to 18,250 gallons. And speaking of faucets, the latest styles are more than attractive. Look for new models that are designed to conserve water. You can use up to a 1/3 less water, depending on the faucet you choose.

Pay attention to foul odor when you turn on the hot water: It’s NOT hip to be funky when it comes to your water. If your water gives off a foul odor during the first few minutes of running the hot tap, it could be due to a faulty anode rod in your water heater. If the anode rod goes, corrosion results, which can eat away at the inside of your tank. Replacing the rod will extend the life of your water heater.

A running toilet could indicate a leak: Here’s a quick and easy way to test it yourself. Place a few drops of food coloring, powdered drink mix, or instant coffee in the TANK, not the bowl. Leave it undisturbed for 20 minutes. When you come back, check out the BOWL. It there’s any discoloration, you’ve got a confirmed leak.

Do you have repeated clogged drains? Snaking may no longer be the best solution. You may need high velocity water jetting to clear out all the clogs. At 4000 psi, this process literally blasts away years of accumulated scale, debris, hair, and grease build-up on the inside walls of the pipes, clearing them of blockages and avoiding pipe replacement.

Carmack Moving – TIPS FOR REDUCING THE STRESS OF A MAJOR MOVE

by Robert Carmack, Carmack Moving and Storage

Some of life’s simplest problems can end up being the biggest bother to solve. When it comes to moving, think simple. While professional movers such as Carmack Moving and Storage offer direction on how to plan for a move, it is still best to also think things through yourself. Once everything is packed up and ready to load, make sure the things you will need least are loaded on to the truck first. Simple common sense is needed when loading the truck. Place the box containing things like your best dishes on top of the box of books and not vice versa.

Think about the things you’ll need the first night in your new home. Pack items that serve your basic needs in a separate bag and carry it with you. Think about eating. Will your appliances be hooked up right away? Will there be a place to store food when you get there? You may even want to prepare a simple meal that you can heat and serve on your first night.

Remember to set aside items for each night you are in transition like clothes, a towel, prescription drugs, a toothbrush, and other personal items. Pack these in your car or somewhere that you can access them easily. And don’t forget plastic utensils, paper plates, paper towels, plastic cups, toilet paper, toiletries, trash bags, hand tools, a flashlight, first aid kit including pain relievers, pencil and paper, snacks, beverages, and re-closeable plastic bags.
