I have been using this week, a software called Comment Sniper. It is one of the best software that i have downloaded lately.
What is Comment Sniper?
Comment Sniper is a free software that allows it’s user to keep track of new posts of your favourite blogs. You just add the desired blogs to the tracking list (i have around 10 so far), choose the scanning interval (i use 5 minutes), and the software will alert you with a small popup on your lower right screen corner, every time it detects a new post on any of the blogs you added to the list.
With the scan interval i choose, i will be able to read the post and comment few minutes later after the post publication, increasing my chances to be the first to comment.
How can this help me?
Well, being the first to comment will help increase your blog visitors. Usually, visitors read the post and the first comments, and sometimes (if not often) the reader will click your link to check your blog. This way, you can bring quality visitors to your blog. Off course, your comments need to be relevant to the post and with some quality, “nice post” kind of comments won’t help you bring visitors.
(just a quick note: while i was writing this post, a new comment sniper alert popped up, and again im the first guy to have a comment on a new post 
)
But being the first to comment and increase site visitors is not the only advantage of this software. With time and continuous posting, it will help you increase your search rankings.
I totally recommend this tool, and if you want to try just download it, and don’t worry, i know you love this blog, so the software comes with this blog already subscribed for new post alerts by default :p

I was just waiting for this post. Comment sniper is really a good software. Since you are using this software you were able to comment on my blog within minutes. I am also using this software now. Today I was able to beat you at TUK by 8 minutes.

Hey Hugo I just have a problem with comment sniper. It is really hard to add other types of blogs. I do not know how to configure the title tags. Please help me out. What should I fill up for Title Tags of your blog.

it is not hard to add other types of blogs.
if the blog is hosted on an own server like mine you choose “Other”, then on title tag select the second option, the one that says: rss/channel/item/title, and that’s it.

I actually tried this one yesterday. I downloaded it and installed it, and immediatly uninstalled it after realizing how bad the software is.
Seriousl, it might sound good that you’ll be updated every time someone posts, but it requires you to manually go in, one by one, entering all of the blogs you want to be subscribed to. Each one took about 30 seconds, and I don’t have an hour of my time to waste just ot get a 10 second heads start on commenting.
It’s a nice idea, but it completely fails my practicality test. Maybe if they made an import modification for popular readers, I would reconsider.

well, i don’t agree with you entirely. It is normal that you take 30 seconds to add a new blog, that happened to me at first, but now it only takes me about 10 seconds to add a new blog. that’s not bad.
an improvment that could be made would be to upload a list of blogs and the software automatically adds the respective feeds, this only with 2-3 clicks max
