Hacked?

Hacked?

Well, im still alive! After being more than a week without posting i am now in a phase where my exams are over (only 1 to go if everything goes well). Strangely or not. During this period of absence, my rss subscription numbers have beaten a new record high (47) :)

So this weeki plan to be more active and do a thing that i was planning to change. The blog name, and domain. So, in the next days the blog domain will be changed to Bloggervenue.com (it is already pointing here, so you can update your bookmarks.) I have changed the domain name has you may have noticed ;) Please update your bookmars. Btw, what do you think of the new domain?

Even it is only a change in the name and in the blog address, it will take sometime for it to be properly spidered, (i potentially will loose some of my good serp’s), i’ll have to change all the urls from social bookmarks, publisher accounts and so on… :( but it is a thing that has to be done.

Now, the reason for this post, as the title says, is that i thing i have been hacked. i have logged in yesterday to find out that all my sites with databases where malfunctioning. First i thought it was something with the server, because it was having a server load of 44, and it was lagging as hell. But then i realised that the tables that handled the posts were deleted. My forum and blogs had nothing to display except an error message. There was simply no data. IF this happened to a single site i wouldn’t suspect anything, but it happened to every site i had. even my BANS stores lost the tables that handled the information.

Unfortunately with me busy studying, i haven’t done any backups since last month. So i had to restore my posts from google cache. :( and i haven’t still managed to fix my forum database. This is being hell. Now i found out that oiopublisher isn’t working. With the help of the creator, the plugin is now working :)

There is so many things to do and so little time for it, i must concentrate first on the exam and then on this. But im contacting with my host to see what happened, and if it is the case, to find the ip of the “funny guy” that did this.

This is the second time i publish this post, because i asked my hosting company to restore my databases, because they were newer than the ones i had.

So, what happened? because of the mysterious deletions of the database tables that handle the posts, i thought that i have been hacked, but after a short talk with the owner of the server that options was excluded. The server hard drive collapsed and there it was need to move all data to a new server. While migrating to the new server, some databases got corrupted. :( This problem made me loose a few bucks, but things like this happen, and no one that has hosting can say that this situations will never happen to them.

Well I suppose it could have been worse. At least you managed to save quite a bit. I reckon this should teach me to back up more often, but I probably won’t LOL
