The unexpected happened. My paypal account got a limited account status.
This means that i can receive payments, but i cannot make payments or withdraw funds.
This happened right after clicking the purchase button on ianfernando sale site for his bans templates.
I was not able to make the payment because my account got flagged, and the reason paypal gave me was this:
Why is my account access limited?
Your account access has been limited for the following reason(s):
Jun. 5, 2008: Our system detected unusual activity on a credit card linked to your PayPal account.
Ok, first, i had a credit card registered with paypal that expired long time ago and it was an attempt to verify my account with a service available here in portugal that makes credit cards for one transaction only. So there was no valid credit card on paypal, and the account said i had 0 CC registered with them.
Ok, so how they have detected that unusual activity on a credit card was detected? I really don’t know, but i may think they have still associated my expired credit card with my account.
I wasn’t caught on any fishing mail, because i never click on links to paypal through an email. And im sure Ian fernando site is trustworthy. So what the hell happen to give an alert to paypal?
While i was thinking my first thing to do was change my password just in case. You never know… But now im ready to speculate, that paypal decided it was time for me to get verified, specially after my recent money withdrawal.
What i have to do now it to upload my photo and a receipt proving my address, whichi will doo today. And then i have to add a credit card. This will be a potential problem to me, because i don’t have earnings statements or anything that proves me that i make x bucks a month. I need to study some solutionst oresolve this quickly because there are investments i want to make and i can’t because of this.
If you live in portugal and know a good solution on getting a credit card with a ccv number would be great.

I always change my PayPal password no matter what. I practically ignore all PayPal emails too since I don’t think they would have anything special for me, then to probably declare some bonus for me for leaving my money with them (LOL… just kidding).
I thought it is a standard procedure to get your account verified by faxing them your identity card and utility bill? Else I don’t think you can withdraw your money to your bank even if you can receive money.

You can buy Virtual Credit Cards and use them with PayPal. You can get one from 111card.com . They are little costly but the cards are visa certified. They are valid for a year and work on PayPal.

thanks agent001. if you posted this 5 minutes earlier i would try that company. i have found entropay, and so far the process to get the card was easy, and paypal accepted it

i checked simon.com and the conditions didn’t please me. But your suggestion made me look for more pre paid visa cards companies and i have found entropay. it was easy… now i just need to wait a few days to recieve the paypal 4 digit code.
