I have recently installed the plugin Show Top Commentators. I have configured this plugin to show the top 5 commentators of the month for now.
This is another cool tool to stimulate blog participation by visitors. Besides the do follow link on the comment, you will get featured on the plugin if you manage to reach the top five. Your name will be shown, linked to your Website.
IF this wasn’t enough for you, every month i will write a post giving some link love to my 5 top posters. That’s another link for your and free exposure

Yes, it is a good plugins that motivate many readers to leave feedbacks on the blog post, I have installed in my blog too.
Ever since the implementation of this plugin, I got a lot more comments in my blog but also at the same time attract more spam comments too.
Beware of this, you might end up with remove this plugin unless you manage your comment manually, approve the value and useful one.

i have also noticed an increase in comments. Spam comments are a problem indeed, but fortunately akismet is able to handle many of the spam comments. but i moderate all comments before approving them.
