The adventure of making money online!

You subscribe and i will follow you

Posted by admin On June - 1 - 2008

About 2 months ago, Ahkong made a proposition in where he asked his visitors to subscribe his RSS feed by email, and in exchange he would do the same. He had a great feedback and managed to get a good increase in his rss subscribers count.

So i will try this method here.

So here is how we are going to do:

  1. Subscribe to my RSS feed by email;
  2. Place a comment here about your subscription;
  3. Remember to place your email used to subscribe, so that i can confirm it;

I will then subscribe to your feed by email and reply to your message.

You will get one subscriber with little work. I know it is only one more subscriber, but brick by brick we build a house. ;)

Is this an evil :twisted: way to increase RSS count? :p

Would you pay for rss subscribers?

Posted by admin On May - 21 - 2008

All kinds of business are made on the internet, and due to the value of RSS subscribers, it is no surprise that i see business like rssxplosion appear on the web.

Current RSS subscribers market price is arount $27 to $35 they say.
Rssxplosion promises to deliver you the amount of subscribers you pay for a promotional price of $1 each only… And delivered weekly or monthly.

It seems they have already made some big sells:

BloggingFingers: USD$6,000 / 204 RSS Subscribers
Ryan Shamus: USD$2,500 / 94 RSS Subscribers

Truth or not…..

The question is: Would you pay for RSS subscribers using this service?

My answer is no.

$1 each is not much. But, they are no real subscribers. You are paying for fake subscribers in my opinion. And it is somewhat easy to create a bunch of emails and subscribe them all to your site. With a little knowledge and with the right tools you can do this in almost no-time.

Now, if you were buying RSS subscribers directly, then it is another issue. You would be buying real rss subscribers, because you negotiate directly to one person for one subscription.

But instead of of buying, why not exchange them? If you want to exchange RSS subscriptions with me then feel free to subscribe my RSS by mail, and i will do the same for you! :p

Sometimes there are offers on the Web that are worth trying. Today I am going to mention one of these offers.

Charter is running a sweepstake where you can win a Nintendo Wii. But that’s not all. Continue reading to know more.

If you are interested in winning a Nintendo Wii, then you just need to visit the sweepstakes site, register with your email, and give some info about yourself (street address, zip code…). The winner will win the Nintendo wii console with 5 games (Boxing, Baseball, Tennis, Golf and bowling).

But that’s not all. Not only you can win that marvelous console system, but you are given the opportunity to participate on an auction for a Charter High-Speed® Internet for Life! So if this has already interested you in participating then Click Here for a Chance to Win a Nintendo® Wii™!

Off course, for obvious reasons, you can bid only if you qualify for the offer, meaning this, that you must live in a Charter serviceable area. You can find the answer for this by simply giving your zip code. The auction will start on March 12 and the starting bid will be $12. Pre registrations are now open.

Remember:

You can win a Nintendo wii, a cable modem + Wireless Router, a professional installation for the fastest internet speed in your area for life!!!!

The $100 Contest

Posted by admin On January - 16 - 2008

CKmarketing is running a $100 contest. But he is not alone. He has joined forces with other blogs to bring you this contest. So what do you have to do?

To gain entries into the contest, just do any of the following:

  • Subscribe to RSS via email = 2 entries (per blog you subscribe to!).
  • Make a comment of value (not just “i agree”, etc.) on a post = 1 entry (remember to comment on all blogs).
  • Write a post about the contest on your blog (must include a link to this page and the links below to participating blogs) = 25 entries.

How much easier can we make it? You can sneak in with just one entry by simply posting a comment here, you can increase your odds by reading and commenting on a few more posts here and at one of the blogs below and maybe subscribe to a couple, or you can really up the odds and subscribe to all all of our blogs (which you’ll enjoy reading anyway), comment on a bunch of posts, and blog about this contest. The more entries you earn, the better your odds, of course. If you’re going to post about this contest, just grab the image and code from here.

The deadline for this contest is 12:00 AM February 1, 2008.

Who wants to pay you?

Remember, the more you post (quality posts) on the participating blogs, more chances you will have to win.

Widgetbucks delivers international cpm ads

Posted by admin On December - 11 - 2007

Widgetbucks started delivering international cpm ads today.

I have received an email regarding this:

Dear WidgetBucks Publishers,

As mentioned in our email at the end of November, today we have successfully launched International CPM ads to be included in our Widgets.

We are now serving CPM ads to the non-U.S./Canada traffic. This will give you revenue, per impression, for your site visitors who come from other countries. This is designed to help publishers who have a blend of traffic from a variety of countries.

Our system will do the geo-location for you, determining where the visitor is coming from. Then we’ll either show the regular pay-per-click widget (to visitors from the U.S. and Canada) or show an ad that pays per impression (to visitors from other countries).

To get started, you will need to log into your WidgetBucks account and re-copy the Widget code under “My Widgets”. After you replace the code on your site, the widget will update ad types automatically.

We’re also proud to mention that we’ve been selected as a finalist for the Open Web Awards. We invite you to visit the site and vote for WidgetBucks!

If you have any questions about the launch of International CPM ads, please contact us at http://support.mpire.com

Happy earning!

The WidgetBucks Team

I have updated the widget code and i can see what ads they are displaying. What i have seen till now are cpxinteractive ads, which is one of the biggest cpm ads companies around.

Im a bit disappointed, but not surprised, the ads are from a second companie, meaning the cpm rates will be lower. But it’s too early to say how much will i earn per cpm ads. Im gonna use the widget on dahh.net to produce faster results and share them with you.

I think this was just a manouver to “compensate” international users, but wether we like it or not it’s our choice to use it or not. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt and wait for results.
