The adventure of making money online!

Countdown to holidays

Posted by admin On July - 7 - 2008

Wow, almost 6 days without publishing anything here at the blog! I don’t like to do this but my situation demands it.

It is the final week of my internship at the health centre and a project that i am doing for the internship is taking longer than i expected, although i am at the final steps of it, but still i need a couple more days to have it at the necessary stage.

Sadly this is making me fall behind on some jobs i have pending such as new bans stores, mini sites and reviews…. :\

So while i don’t post a decent topic here i will let you read some posts of blogs that i read:

How to find a niche for your bans store - Flimjo

Speed up your blog - The Net Fool

Bill from TheBlogentrepeneur says that you should treat your niche sites like Business.

And finally, Building A Famous Blog Is Like Writing A Hit Song is brought to you by Tom from Standoutblogger.

Have fun reading these posts and ill see you in the next post! ;)

Ad Auction Network - Focial.com

Posted by admin On January - 13 - 2008

A few days ago i stumbled with an interesting site called Focial.com

This site is an auction site specialized in selling advertinsing for your blogs (but not only that!). If you know ebay, than all that was said about ebay its in focial.com except focial.com is a niche auction site.

What can you do there:

  • Buy and sell advertising
  • Advertise for guest bloggers and become a guest blogger for someone else.
  • Focial has paid and free listings
  • Advertise your graphics skills
  • Sell anything else that could help bloggers

If you register you will have a free $25 credit to use in your auctions. You can use them to feature an auction for example.

This site is relatively new and has few members., but a think this site can evolve a lot, and i want to be one of the first there. :)

I have made some auctions and let’s see how it will go for me.

oh, and by the way, if you register please consider placing lossehelin has your referrer :)

Creating mini sites - Part 1 - Software to use

Posted by admin On December - 22 - 2007

Hello! As mentioned yesterday, im going to start a series of “how to create a mini site”. I have covered this subject a few times, and showed you how to create them using some scripts or software like Commonsense CMS, Rssmini 1.3, HyperVRE (which promised to be a great tool but in fact sucked).

I have 2 new tools to try out. But for now let’s stick with one. I really hope this new tool is way better than the previous ones. This tool takes in consideration that it helps you creating a mini site easy and fast, but it does not help you create the content. It’s up to you to create the content. Don’t fall in temptation to copy other site content and don’t use rss feed to fill you pages. Use your own created content, your own words.

So, what tool am i talking about?

19pages. Have you ever heard of it? It’s a software created by the guys at 45n5 that will help you deploy a mini site real easy, real fast!

So 19 pages? yeah, the software is limited to 20 pages and 19 articles. It’s a mini site…. it is not supposed to have many pages! :p

Here is a quick presentation of the software:

19 pages
So what’s good about it?

  1. It’s easy to install. Just upload to your host, edit the config.php file and there is no need for a database.
  2. It’s easy to use. You have only what you need for. A place to write your articles and a place to add tags.
  3. SEO friendly

All right now that we have a software to use, the next step is finding the niche mini site we want to use. And for that we need to do some keyword researching.

That, my friends, i’ll leave it for Creating mini sites - Part 2. Stay tuned ;)

Creating mini sites with hyperVRE - Phase 1

Posted by admin On October - 9 - 2007

In this summer i have mentioned a software that creates mini sites easily, but i never showed you live content created by hyperVRE.

I haven’t used it yet to publish mini-sites, but now i have decided to do a little test on hypervre using the free version available. The test will consist mainly in creating 3 different mini sites, one with an .info domain, and the other 2 using sub domains of the dahh.net domain.

So after thinking a little bit the 3 sites i will create are:

1st: real estate;

2nd: cars

3rd: hair loss

Notice that the first 2 are difficult niches to get an high ranking in search engines, and the third one is a little better but not much. i want to see how well hypervre does in this aspect.

Using the free version has some disadvantages in getting articles, and it seems to be somewhat very slow gathering them. but after a few minutes of patient you can have a real live mini-site working.

So after a few minutes the results are these:

www.procurarcasa.info

www.cars.dahh.net

www.hairloss.dahh.net

has you can see, the software fails to create proper links. this could be a real pain in the ass, because if you want the site to be fully functional you will need to edit by hand all pages…. this can take to much time. The procurarcasa.info is working well because i tokk some time to manually edit all links…:(

I will give some time to let the search engines index the sites, but the question is: will they index the sites the way i wanted? because most content comes from articles, and it is more likely to be a very repeated article, and google specially, does not like to index replicated content… Let’s see how this will work.
