The adventure of making money online!

free privacy policy generator

Posted by admin On March - 3 - 2008

If you haven’t heard, and if you use google adsense, then you must know that google changed the adsense TOS. Now, all publishers are required to have a privacy policy. And many of you will search for a free privacy policy generator. I sure did searched :p

Here is a short paragraph regarding this:

“You must have and abide by an appropriate privacy policy that clearly discloses that third parties may be placing and reading cookies on your users’ browser, or using web beacons to collect information, in the course of ads being served on your website. Your privacy policy should also include information about user options for cookie management.”

I will “write” (more search thant write lol) a proper privacy policy for my sites. Google doesn’t specify a time frame, or what consequences publishers may have. I honestly don’t think they will terminate the account without warning you, and let you fix the issue…

This ain’t a big deal to small publishers like me , that have only a handful of sites. But for those Big publishers with thousands of sites, this can be a pain in the ass…

And btw, have you heard of my 3000 entrecard contest running? The deadline to participate is next week, and so far i haven’t reached the minimum number of participants! Apply and bring your friends :)

Tnx.net - Make Money selling links

Posted by admin On February - 27 - 2008

One of the most profitable ways to make money blogging is selling links. But some times it may be hard to find someone that want to by a link from you. The best choice is to have a “middle man”. TNX.net acts as the “middle man”, and with surprisingly efficiency.

You may sell links not only to the main page, but for all pages of your blog/site that are indexed by TNX.

How does it work?

You just need to register, add your website (sadly, they don’t accept Portuguese websites), place the code where you want the links to appear and wait for your website to be accepted.

I did this a couple of days ago, and TNX already managed to provide me with 100 possible paid links! And i decide wich to use and where to use them.

Each link you sell, TNX will take a share of the profit. Only 25% of the link price. It is very reasonable, if you compare to other sites that take 50% of your revenue!!

Tnx works on a points system, meaning that you don’t earn money right a way for selling links. Instead, your site is evaluated according to specific page rank, and yahoo back links.

So, the better you are ranked more money you will make.

The points you earn are then converted into cash by selling them. You can choose to transfer to another user (you may sell them, for example at digitalpoint forums), or sell them directly to TNX. Currently, they by 1000 points for $0,75, and the minimum payout is only $5 payable to your paypal account.

They have also a referral system. :) If you refer someone to use Tnx network, then you will earn 13,3% of the points earned by he/she for life!

If you are scared by the recent google slap on sites that sell links, i can assure you that TNX links look like normal site links. It’s one of the best software that i have found that can make a paid link look natural to the google bot, and preventing the publishers for being slapped and loose their page rank.

If you want to become an advertiser, then one of the best aspects is the very reasonable price of links! And above all, you can get thousands of static links that will help you improve your search engine rankings.

I admit, the possibility to have thousands of links for my sites so easily is very tempting.

The site is clean, graphically appealing but soft. The administration area could be improved. You don’t have a personal info control panel. Instead you have an advertise and publisher panel.

As a final note, i do recommend this system. It is very easy to sell links, although i admit that if you have a PR of 0, your earnings will can be limited (try their calculator to see how much you can earn).

Happy earnings! :)

Auctionads Ends and merges with Shooping ads

Posted by admin On January - 11 - 2008

Long time ago i speculated the ending of auctionads, and yesterday i received an email from them announcing the merge between Auction ads and Shoppingads.

The difference now in shoppingads is that in order to benefit from CPC ads you will need to be select for premium publisher, and even if you are selected you will only get CPC ads from US and CAnada traffic, every other country origin will have CPA ads. If you are a standard publisher then you will have to “make a living” with CPA ads only.

This merge will make you loose all your referrals, and many people like custodio, will loose many many referrals.

But in conclusion, the way things were going with Auctionads, im sure it wont be missed….

Kontera - Content Link Publisher

Posted by admin On December - 27 - 2007

One thing that a webmaster needs to keep in mind is not to concentrate all his revenue sources. The key is to diversificate and experiment. If a webmaster concentrate for example on google adsense, someday he may have a really bad surprise with an email from google telling that his account was suspended…. From a day to another the only source he had was gone! Finding and making profitable the new source of income can be hard.

You all know of google adsense, bidvertiser, adsonar, widgetbucks and shoppingads that deliver ppc ads in banners, squares, whatever…. But does any of them deliver contentlink ads (inline contextual ads)? Nope! But Kontera does! In fact, that’s the only way they display their ads.

You probably will see some kontera link ads in this post.

kontera.com/ContentLinkFormats/images/middel_top_babble_03.jpg” align=”left” height=”144″ width=”230″ />

Some people may think that contentlink may be intrusive, and some say that it might bring your adsense CTR rate down. I personally, am not bothered by these inline text ads. As for the decreasing of CTR i can’t tell you because i haven’t gathered enough info.

Kontera is now more open to accept smaller sites. You should grab this opportunity before they change their minds again!

To get a job in companies like this, you might find useful the following text:

Widgetbucks delivers international cpm ads

Posted by admin On December - 11 - 2007

Widgetbucks started delivering international cpm ads today.

I have received an email regarding this:

Dear WidgetBucks Publishers,

As mentioned in our email at the end of November, today we have successfully launched International CPM ads to be included in our Widgets.

We are now serving CPM ads to the non-U.S./Canada traffic. This will give you revenue, per impression, for your site visitors who come from other countries. This is designed to help publishers who have a blend of traffic from a variety of countries.

Our system will do the geo-location for you, determining where the visitor is coming from. Then we’ll either show the regular pay-per-click widget (to visitors from the U.S. and Canada) or show an ad that pays per impression (to visitors from other countries).

To get started, you will need to log into your WidgetBucks account and re-copy the Widget code under “My Widgets”. After you replace the code on your site, the widget will update ad types automatically.

We’re also proud to mention that we’ve been selected as a finalist for the Open Web Awards. We invite you to visit the site and vote for WidgetBucks!

If you have any questions about the launch of International CPM ads, please contact us at http://support.mpire.com

Happy earning!

The WidgetBucks Team

I have updated the widget code and i can see what ads they are displaying. What i have seen till now are cpxinteractive ads, which is one of the biggest cpm ads companies around.

Im a bit disappointed, but not surprised, the ads are from a second companie, meaning the cpm rates will be lower. But it’s too early to say how much will i earn per cpm ads. Im gonna use the widget on dahh.net to produce faster results and share them with you.

I think this was just a manouver to “compensate” international users, but wether we like it or not it’s our choice to use it or not. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt and wait for results.
