Cpxinteractive – Final Considerations

Posted by admin On May - 14 - 2008

If you don’t remember, a week ago, i started to analyse Cpxinteractive, and i decided it was time to show you some results.

But first, a short review about their site.

If you are interested in joining them, them you must know that after registration you will need to verify your site. They require that you create a file with your email address, so that they can visit that file and see that you are the owner of the site. Well, i guess they could have a more sophisticated way to validate a site, but i guess it works for them. The process usually is finished in a couple of days, and you will need to do this every time you want to add a new site.

Anti marketing design

Posted by admin On February - 28 - 2008

A few weeks ago i found an interesting post about “Anti marketing design“.

Anti marketing design are sites that use ugly designs, but manage to be very successful.

The example used was Plentyoffish.com, a site that makes more than $10000 each day with google adsense. According to the founder, Markus Frind , one of the main reasons of this success is exactly the ugly site design.

He evens gives examples of other ugly sites that are very successful such as myspace, craiglist, google.

Markus Frind says that sites with an ugly design tend to generate more revenue, build better brands, and are more fun to participate.

Posted by admin On January - 17 - 2008

It’s has been 9 days now since i created the wii-finder mini site in the Creating Mini sites series and it is time to do a short analysis.

I got wii-finder.info indexed by google in 2 days. But i failed to write articles fast and even now there is one page with no text on it.

Lets look at keyword ranking on google:

Wii Finder: Not ranked :(

Guitar hero for wii: Not ranked :(

Wii problems: Not ranked :(

Auctionads Ends and merges with Shooping ads

Posted by admin On January - 11 - 2008

Long time ago i speculated the ending of auctionads, and yesterday i received an email from them announcing the merge between Auction ads and Shoppingads.

The difference now in shoppingads is that in order to benefit from CPC ads you will need to be select for premium publisher, and even if you are selected you will only get CPC ads from US and CAnada traffic, every other country origin will have CPA ads. If you are a standard publisher then you will have to “make a living” with CPA ads only.

Shoppingads – Bad news for users outside US

Posted by admin On December - 21 - 2007

Probably, this is a late news for you but i haven’t visited shoppingads for a long time now, since they stop delivering ads on my sites. But now, the ads start showing again, and i went there to see what was going on, and for my surprise there were some alterations:

As you can see, shoppingads now separates traffic according to the origin, and now, only US traffic will get CPC ads, and international traffic gets CPA ads.

Shoppingads and widgetbucks are taking the same path, except widgetbucks learned to compensate webmasters that have non US traffic.

Earn with Blog dahh net – Contest Status.

Posted by admin On December - 14 - 2007

We are in the middle of the month and it is time for an update of the contest we are running this month.

SO far we have 4 participants. Which i think it is a low participant number because it is so easy to participate.

Blogs that announce contests have been adding to their database this contest, and i have some traffic coming from them, but we can do better. If you know someone that owns a blog don’t forget to ask them to participate. They only loose 2 minutes to apply. :)

Widgetbucks delivers international cpm ads

Posted by admin On December - 11 - 2007

Widgetbucks started delivering international cpm ads today.

I have received an email regarding this:

Dear WidgetBucks Publishers,

As mentioned in our email at the end of November, today we have successfully launched International CPM ads to be included in our Widgets.

We are now serving CPM ads to the non-U.S./Canada traffic. This will give you revenue, per impression, for your site visitors who come from other countries. This is designed to help publishers who have a blend of traffic from a variety of countries.

Widgetbucks delivers International CPM Ads

Posted by admin On November - 29 - 2007

i have just received an email from widgetbucks telling about CPM ads for international traffic:

Here’s an upcoming feature. In early December, we will start serving CPM ads to the non-U.S./Canada traffic. This will give you revenue, per impression, for your site visitors who come from other countries. This is designed to help publishers who have a blend of traffic from a variety of countries.

Our system will do the geo-location for you, determining where the visitor is coming from. Then we’ll either show the regular pay-per-click widget (to visitors from the U.S. and Canada) or show an ad that pays per impression (to visitors from other countries). You’ll see a new column, called “CPM Revenue” in your earnings reports.
