Cpxinteractive - Final Considerations

Posted by admin On May - 14 - 2008

If you don’t remember, a week ago, i started to analyse Cpxinteractive, and i decided it was time to show you some results.

But first, a short review about their site.

If you are interested in joining them, them you must know that after registration you will need to verify your site. They require that you create a file with your email address, so that they can visit that file and see that you are the owner of the site. Well, i guess they could have a more sophisticated way to validate a site, but i guess it works for them. The process usually is finished in a couple of days, and you will need to do this every time you want to add a new site.

After having your account is approved you can login to your dashboard. You will see that some nice graphics reports are available to you, showing how was your progress in the last days. Sadly, i can’t show you some images because my graphical reports are showing no data for the last days.

One thing that i don’t like (besides the low cpm earnings :evil) is that you dashboard is not that user friendly… when you have more than one site… but hey…. maybe im just dumb lol.

Now for the interesting part…. or not….

The results for the blog are somewhat poor, probably because this was a slow week for the blog in terms of traffic.

So, what i can say is that for 1000 impressions, cpxinteractive paid an eCPM of $0.12! That’s 12 cents!

I was really hopping that the earnings would be better because the main source of traffic of this blog comes from USA.

So, first obvious conclusion: It is worth it for high traffic sites only.

Now let’s see my overall results.

Besides this blog, i have been using CPXinteractive ads on another site, with better results but still, poor in a global point of view.

So far, my sites have delivered a total of 84,858 impressions, generating 1,341 and 23 conversions generating me a total of $31.60 with an eCPM of 0.37. Nothing big deal….

Take note that the 23 conversions contributed for the majority of the earnings. I had conversions that paid $5.

The eCPM by country of origin seems to vary. I had eCPM of 0.40 from spain, 0.17 and 0.35 from USA, and so on. don’t know how they calculate the value of each visitor.

So final thoughts? i will continue to use cpxinteractive ads on this blog for a while longer, or until a valid solution appears. But i will definitely continue to use these ads on my other site. The volume of traffic compensates the low eCPM, and from time to time a click generates a conversion :)

Want to try them yourself? Go to Cpxinteractive site.

Btw, do you know some better paying sites that deliver cpm ads?

Some links from my top referring sites

I decided to check google analytics stats for this blog and decided that it was time to give credit to some blogs that are driving traffic to my.

So here are some interesting articles from the blogs that kindly are bringing traffic to my blog :):

Vikinblogger recently joined Payperpost and he is having some mixed thoughts about PPP, see for your self what he has to tell.

is giving me some good traffic, but unfortunately i can’t read what they have to say because it is in a language i can’t read, Norwegian :|

bloggeries.com gathers a community of bloggers from all over the world. This forum may help you a lot in your blogging life.

JohnChow.com yeah, johnchow blog is sending me some traffic too. Jonh Chow is back with another post with food pictures… Some of you like and thin this is fun, others are tired of this kind of posts. You be the judge.. :p

dinheirooportunidade.comin this case i would recommend the english version of this blog from a Portuguese guru. :) Custodio in his english blog tells you how to have Cheap, quality traffic, and stolen from your competitors

And this is it. The are blogs that are sending me more traffic. For all of them my thanks, and keep them coming! :D

Anti marketing design

Posted by admin On February - 28 - 2008

A few weeks ago i found an interesting post about “Anti marketing design“.

Anti marketing design are sites that use ugly designs, but manage to be very successful.

The example used was Plentyoffish.com, a site that makes more than $10000 each day with google adsense. According to the founder, Markus Frind , one of the main reasons of this success is exactly the ugly site design.

He evens gives examples of other ugly sites that are very successful such as myspace, craiglist, google.

Markus Frind says that sites with an ugly design tend to generate more revenue, build better brands, and are more fun to participate.

When i read this i thought to my self “what the hell!?”. But i must agree… I have stumbled with sites that in my opinion are very very ugly, but i was surprised with the amount of traffic they had, the amount of users, readers, rss subscribers, the money they made! Even the blog where i found this post had an ugly design and ranks 19,895 in alexa, and has more than 300 comments on that specific post.

Why do we tend to use ugly sites?

I can just give my opinion. I don’t like these kind of ugly sites. But there’s ugly, and there’s UGLY. myspace is UGLY, google is ugly, but extremely simple and effective. Web surfers like simplicity, effectiveness, quickness, and not to many information at the same time.

For me, ugly sites resumes only to a simple equation: ugly sites = less distractions

The users are not distracted by a “state of the art design” with great graphics, and can focus their attention into the content, in what the site really has to offer.

Think a little bit about this, and tell me what you think…

Creating Mini sites - Case Study 9th day results

Posted by admin On January - 17 - 2008

It’s has been 9 days now since i created the wii-finder mini site in the Creating Mini sites series and it is time to do a short analysis.

I got wii-finder.info indexed by google in 2 days. But i failed to write articles fast and even now there is one page with no text on it.

Lets look at keyword ranking on google:

Wii Finder: Not ranked :(

Guitar hero for wii: Not ranked :(

Wii problems: Not ranked :(

wii console in stock: Not ranked :(

wii availability: Not ranked :(

Where to buy wii: Ranked 19 :)

I admit these results are poor. The main keywords i select haven’t been ranked yet on google. but i haven’t done any promotionand link building for the mini site except in this blog.

But, analysing the stats from google analytics i have received traffic from these keywords:

wii finder in store: Ranked 16th

guitar hero finder: Ranked 21st

guitar hero for the wii finder: ranked 5th

After seeying this i will do some changes on the Wii finder site.

As for earnings, the site has generated its first clicks. :)

Overall the results are satisfatory. I just have to spend some time to get better results.

Auctionads Ends and merges with Shooping ads

Posted by admin On January - 11 - 2008

Long time ago i speculated the ending of auctionads, and yesterday i received an email from them announcing the merge between Auction ads and Shoppingads.

The difference now in shoppingads is that in order to benefit from CPC ads you will need to be select for premium publisher, and even if you are selected you will only get CPC ads from US and CAnada traffic, every other country origin will have CPA ads. If you are a standard publisher then you will have to “make a living” with CPA ads only.

This merge will make you loose all your referrals, and many people like custodio, will loose many many referrals.

But in conclusion, the way things were going with Auctionads, im sure it wont be missed….
