Having your site reviewed may point you into someting that should be improved. I got my blog reviewed a few months ago by several bloggers and they all said that one of the weakest elements of my blog was brandability. This blog lacked a good logo to show off. The previous one was awful. I was aware of this even before the reviews were made, but they made me look for alternatives.
I like to use photoshop and play with it. You can count me to do some flyers and posters with photoshop, but don’t ask me to do logos. I really suck at that. So a way to get around this was to look for someone that would design me a logo. I searched a bit, and all offers i found were to much expensive for my budget. I was almost giving up when i found standoutblogger that got himself a new logo for his blog. I liked the new logo a lot. He got his logo on a contest in Digitalpoint forum and he managed to get this logo for $20 only!
I was thinking on doing the same thing but first i contacted the winner of the contest to see what were his fees. I checked his porfolio and liked what i have seen, and since his fees were small and quality was very impressive i ordered a logo from him.

The process of ordering was easy. He works fast an efficiently. I just told him what i wanted in the logo and he did the rest.
What i asked him was to blend B and V in a logo. It needed to be unique. shiny and recognizable and be compatible with the blog theme. After a few modifications the result is what you can see now. I really like the logo, it is something that i can call my own and it may help brand the blog. Make it recognizable.
Note: the picture shown within post is watermarked due to security reasons 
After this initial investment, i bought some ads to help spread the new logo and make it seen, the overall results will come in about a month.
So tell me your thoughts about the new logo.

I really like the blend of the B and V but find that the watermark behind it is distracting. To me it looks like the watermark people put on image previews and that you have to pay to remove. Perhaps you could get him to not have it go behind the graphic. I do like the graphic though.
ah no. i put watermark there because the logo as nothing saying to who it belongs. IT was an independent image so i wanted to make copy and take overs a little harder.
the original does not have the atermark as you can see in the top of the blog.
i really recommend im3dd. It is a bargain and the job is done with quality
I was also thinking whether it is watermark or not. Could be for tech or even sport site I reckon. Good on him.
BTW Hugo, now again, the large image in posts has proved to be practical hasn’t it? Yesterday while I was testing my simultaneous comment preview plugin (real time synchronized preview) I learned that very easily (by typing in ordinary url and img addresses) also images can be added to wp comments making them more appealing/atractive. See an instance of picture in a comment in my last post. What you say?
that looks nice. it can be useful tipo for some bloggers. what plugin are you using for that? comment preview plugin?
Synchronized Preview it’s just uploaded script, good for previewing links in comments it they work or how is styling. But the image is added into comment simply by manually typing into text area url and img addresses, <a href=…… and img src=…… for the thumbnail and for the original sized image that opens when thumb’s clicked.

Very nice and clean logo. You can’t really recognize “b” and “v” but still gives you a brandable image.
I’ve also used DP contests many times before for my own graphics needs and got great results.
Your logo look great. I like the simple look of the logo. I hope I could have my own logo too soon after my new wordpress site had been configured.
